Project is oriented on the basic research in the field of the utilization of the large volume by-products and wastes from the metallurgy sector. The typical groups of the materials represent slags, the products of dry and wet cleaning of gases, additionally also the ashes from associated energy units and solid wastes from foundries.
The main research goals:
- Increasing of the utilization of waste materials coming from metallurgy, especially the utilization of their potential to be valuable raw materials for different industries.
- Enhancement of the recycling level of these large volume by-products and wastes in the place of their origin.
- Broadening of the knowledge and experience connected to the ecology of the production.
- Methods for the effective treatment of the solid waste materials, by-products and other materials from metallurgy processes and associated processes.
- Exploration of the potential of the waste materials for the production of the novel products with higher added value.
One of the objectives of the project is the creation of the professional platform able to address the problems associated with the material utilization of the waste materials from metallurgy and associated technologies.
